Stone Assessment
I will remove your stones from your existing jewelry, clean them, evaluate and photograph them, and then provide a full take-in report delivered 3-5 business days after I receive the jewelry piece(s). This report is not an official appraisal but a snapshot of the pieces you have, evaluating their compatibility with your new design.
Design
I will hand draw 2-3 design options for you as a starting point, using the heirloom stones you've supplied. From there I will work with you closely to nail down the perfect design.
Finally, I will have a hyper-realistic rendering made where you can really get a visual of the final piece!
Production
From here on, I will personally hand craft your new heirloom piece. I will stay in touch with you throughout the entire 4-8 week process!
I can send progress photos upon request, but be warned! It's a dirty job and you will need to trust the process! Nothing beautiful ever started out that way. But I promise you'll love the final piece.

The Process

Questionnaire
EZEKIEL 37:1-14
"Behold, I will make breath enter you so that you may come to life. I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin, and I will put breath in you so that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord."
FAQ
I HAVE A FAMILY HEIRLOOM GEMSTONE, CAN YOU USE IT IN A NEW ENGAGEMENT RING?
Absolutely! These are my favorite types of projects. The sentimentality of family jewels cannot be understated nor undervalued. I will personally evaluate the stone(s) and come up with the best way to incorporate them into your new ring!
HOW MUCH DOES A REDESIGN COST?
Price depends completely upon the complexity of the design, the precious metals we will be using, any new stones being added, and what components are being used from the previous piece of jewelry. The Heirloom Re-Design process generally starts at $1,500 USD.
I HAVE METAL FROM AN OLD RING. CAN YOU USE IT IN THE NEW DESIGN?
While all of the metals we use are recycled, I cannot melt down your old gold or platinum and use it in your new piece (at this time). Melting down unknown metal alloys and crafting it into a new piece is more than likely to compromise the structural integrity of the new piece. Imperfections in the metal from previous repairs will causing porosity and alloy clumps. This would render the new jewelry structurally unstable. Think of it like mixing a bunch of different cake batters together and trying to bake them properly all at once.
However, I can usually purchase the old settings I've removed stones from to credit towards the creation of a new piece! The gold would be purchased based on the current gold market scrap price, minus the cost of refining.
I HAVE A FEW JEWELRY PIECES FROM MY GRANDMOTHER, WHAT CAN YOU MAKE WITH THEM?
Together we will go through each piece of jewelry to determine what stones/elements are usable in your new design. I can use most diamonds, sapphire, rubies, and nearly any other gemstone in your newly designed heirloom piece!
HOW DOES THE STONE ASSESMENT WORK?
My stone evaluation process is extremely thorough. Often, well-loved gemstones will have damage due to long years of wear. Before I remove the stones from their current settings, I deep clean them. Next, I will photograph the stones before they are removed from the setting. Under a microscope, I look for any damaged stones. If a stone appears to be broken or chipped, I will not remove it from the setting. I will contact you immediately with pictures and receive written consent to continue, at the risk of the stone becoming damaged further. I am not liable for any stones that come into my care that have been previously damaged.

Depending on the severity of the damage, I can determine if the stone can be used in the new design or sent to a stone cutter to be recut. Unfortunately, there is high risk with setting a broken stone. So most likely I would not be able to use it in your new design.
